About Dakota Drafting & Design

Dakota Drafting & Design is a full service drafting and design support firm serving a variety of industries including: Architecture & Engineering Firms, Commercial & Residential Building Contractors, Land Development Firms, Governmental Organizations, Manufacturing Areas, Security Integrators, Laboratory Installers, and other niche markets.

 

Our key staff and pool of draftsman have many years of experience in all types of drafting and are diversified into all areas of project design and construction administration. We have the drafting support staff available to oversee large scale projects. We have the software, tools and knowledge to develop professional three dimensional images and renderings. We strive to provide our clients with quality products in the most efficient manner possible. Also, we work to provide fair pricing and develop mutually beneficial relationships with all our customers. 

 

KEY STAFF 

 

CHAD BRINK - Vice President/Project Manager:  Mr. Brink has worked in the Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) field for over twenty years after receiving training in Phoenix, AZ. He has worked as a manager for CADD Service Bureaus in both Arizona and South Dakota as well as for the Sioux Falls, SD Architectural firms of Holman & Associates and Spencer Ruff Associates. While employed for service bureaus, he was exposed to virtually all forms of drafting and CADD related projects. These include architectural, engineering (plumbing, electrical & HVAC) manufacturing (including Computer Aided Manufacturing CAM), electronic, residential, hospitality and litigation. He is proficient in generating three dimensional drawings, renderings and movie style animations. Mr. Brink has also offered CADD training classes and onsite CADD consulting for many governmental and private businesses. As project manager for Holman Associates for over eight years, Mr. Brink has been involved with many construction projects and clients from the beginning design stages through the final inspections after construction. In September of 2006 Mr. Brink helped to develop and open the doors of Dakota Drafting & Design.

 

CORY PRICE - Assistant Vice President, Project Coordinator:  Mr. Price has been involved in drafting and other aspects of this industry for 15 years. Coming out of Southeast Technical Institute he started out working with Associated Consulting Engineers drafting electrical lighting and power layouts for 4 years. At this point Mr. Price made a move to Rysvay Architecture for 2 years drafting architectural projects and learning the processes involved. Then he moved to TSP Incorporated where for over eight years he spent his time drafting, designing, aiding in marketing, filling in with mechanical and electrical drafting, customizing drafting software and training others in the use of CADD. When with TSP Mr. Price also was a project coordinator on many large hospital and elderly care facility projects through the Midwest, heading up the construction document process of a full function firm and assisting in the construction management of the projects he was involved with. Being proficient in CADD and having good eye for constructability of details in the building industry has been a large part of his growth over his career. In September of 2006 Mr. Price helped develop and open the doors of Dakota Drafting & Design.

 

OLIN E. ODLAND, AIA, Architect, Project Coordinator:  Mr. Odland graduated from the University of Minnesota with a major in Architecture. He began his architectural career when he started working as a draftsman for the architectural firm of Fritzel – Kroeger – Griffin & Berg in September 1967. He received his Architectural License in January of 1976. Since then he has been the Project Architect for many building projects consisting of Health Care Facilities, Banks, Offices, Elementary & Secondary Schools, Universities, Laboratories, Day-Care Facilities, Medical Facilities, Churches, Utility companies and Industrial Plants. He is currently the Project Architect for Architectural Services in Sioux Falls, SD.
